The highly revised 2016 Nissan Altima has officially earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Critically praised for its excellent safety features and technologies, the popular sedan joins the 2016 Nissan Maxima and 2016 Nissan Murano as the sole three vehicle to nab Top Safety Pick+ ratings so far this year in Nissan’s lineup.
Interbrand has released their annual Best Global Brand's study for 2015 and Nissan has once again climbed up the ladder this year, ranking at number 49 on the list. Since the brand first appeared in the study in 2011 at number 90, it has been quickly moving ahead of the pack each year, making it the fastest-rising automotive brand in the 2015 study.
J.D. Power named the Nissan Murano the most appealing midsize SUV in their annual 2015 Automotive, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. Completely redesigned this year, the Murano scored higher than the segment average and was crowned the second most improved vehicle among all those included in the study.
The Nissan LEAF has done what no other plug-in has been able to do this year: It received an IHS Automotive Loyalty Award. Due to its loyal fanbase, the LEAF was crowned the best Non-Luxury Traditional Compact Car on the market today. The honor was recently bestowed upon the popular EV at the Detroit Auto Show, where Nissan announced they are working on a 200-mile range version of the LEAF slated to debut sometime in 2016/17.
