J.D. Power named the Nissan Murano the most appealing midsize SUV in their annual 2015 Automotive, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. Completely redesigned this year, the Murano scored higher than the segment average and was crowned the second most improved vehicle among all those included in the study. Aside from the Murano, the Altima ranked second in the midsize car segment and the Frontier took third in the midsize pickup segment, cementing Nissan as a top automotive competitor.
As a part of the APEAL Study, J.D. Power surveyed purchasers and lessees of new models and evaluated each one using 77 different attributes. Out of the frontrunners in the midsize SUV segment, the Murano scored the highest, raking in a total of 853 points, which put it 35 points ahead of the runner up model. In addition to scoring higher than the segment average, the SUV also accumulated 58 more points than last year's Murano model in the annual study. The latest vehicle's new expressive exterior design, advanced features and 260-horsepower 3.5L V-6 engine are greatly admired by its owners and have proven to be excellent, fresh additions.
