The 2020 model comes equipped with all the driver assistance gadgets for every trim level. As expected, the suite includes automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beam light, and land departure warning.
For those who want more, the SR trim level has all the features that used to be restricted to the top-of-the-line Platinium level in the 2019 model. When upgrading to SR, additional features include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera system, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, and rear automated emergency braking.
The Nissan Maxima is available in five trim levels in five different configurations. All of the trim levels use the same engine and transmission. While there is no difference in performance, the upgrade versions such as SR and Platinium offer a lot in terms of value.
The Platinum level is a worthwhile upgrade to add additional features. The Platinium is packed full of amenities such as a power-adjustable steering column, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power-operated rear sunshade, leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts, and wood interior trim.
Nissan also offers a Reserve package for Maxima. It includes heated rear seats, exclusive 19-inch wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheels in two different tones, and a charcoal-colored headliner. Overall, Nissan Maxima has sturdy suspension and well-balanced ride comfort.
Inside every model, there is an Apple CarPlay and Android capability to add to the technological features. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard across all trim levels, which is easy to control due to redundant buttons for audio volume and climate control.
Remote access, emergency services, and vehicle monitoring are some of the other features of the system. Parents will also appreciate a variety of different alerts such as speed restrictions, boundary alerts, and emergency contact in case of an accident. You can even control the remote start and door-lock access in the event of a theft.
Nissan Maxima is powered by a 300-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine that is quicker than many of its counterparts. The car accelerates smoothly. The suspension is also hard and well-equipped to handle rough conditions and sudden bumps on the road.
Aggressive corner maneuvering and brakes don't make the car lean at an awkward angle. The performance is blended with efficiency as Nissan Maxima is easily able to achieve excellent fuel economy, which is impeccable for its class of vehicles.
The car has received acclaim for an array of driver assistance features. Almost all basic driver assistance features are standard in all models. The SR and Platinium models offer more advanced technology compared to the baseline models. Nissan Maxima has standard automated emergency braking and forward-collision warning, while drivers can also choose to include adaptive cruise control.
