The 2020 Nissan 370Z remains mostly unchanged from the 2019 model. The exception to that is the 50th Anniversary edition offers a new options package that includes 50th-anniversary logos, an Alcantara steering wheel, and dark chrome trim as well as a two-tone paint job that hearkens back to the Brock Racing Enterprises 240Z cars of the 1970s.
There are five trims available for the Nissan 370Z. Those are the Base, Sport, Sport Touring, the 50th Anniversary edition, and the Nismo. The 50th Anniversary edition is available in silver with black or white with red. The available voice-activated Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System includes SiriusXM Traffic and Weather services to help avoid potential issues due to inclement weather or traffic hindrances.
With the available hands-free phone system, a touch of a button is all that is required to use a compatible smartphone even when the phone is out of sight inside the car. Nissan's Intelligent Key allows the car to be unlocked with the touch of a button as well as allowing push-button start and stop. The Base and Sport offer a six-speed manual transmission while the Sport Touring offers a seven-speed automatic transmission and the other trims offer the choice between the two.
The fourth generation 3.7 liter VQ V6 is the standard engine in the 370Z. The standard v6 provides 332 horsepower with 270 lb-ft of torque. The Nismo features a 3.7 liter, 350 horsepower engine with 276 lb-ft of torque. Both engines feature a continuously variable valve timing control system that helps to optimize fuel efficiency while reducing emissions and providing a quicker response. Carbon-fiber components keep the engine lightweight.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility focuses on three areas to provide protection on the road. Those are the vehicle's systems, assisting with unexpected situations and safety in an accident. The Anti-lock Braking System helps to prevent wheels from locking when the brakes are applied while Electronic Brake Force Distribution helps determine the right amount of force needed by the brakes based upon the weight of the car. Brake Assist allows for quicker stopping by applying maximum power to the brakes when needed.
Vehicle Dynamic Control applies brake pressure to specific wheels when needed to help maintain vehicle control. Pretensioners and load limiters on the safety belts alternately tighten when airbags are deployed or slacken when too much force is placed on the belt. Active Head Restraints help reduce injuries associated with whiplash. Sensors within the advanced airbag system adjust the inflation rate of airbags depending upon seat belt usage and the severity of a crash. Supplemental side airbags are built into the front seats and move when seat position is changed. Additionally, roof-mounted side impact airbags help to provide head protection.
