What's New For the 2021 Nissan Frontier?

The Nissan Frontier doesn't get significant updates for the 2021 model year. One of the longest-running pickup truck lines, this popular mid-size truck still offers one of the most powerful engines and value in its class.

2021 Frontier Trims and Features

For a truck, the Nissan Frontier offers plenty of comfort and tools for a comfortable workday or weekend adventure. Even though the base trim, called the S, is considered a basic work truck, it comes equipped with many nice touches. A seven-inch infotainment display is included in the cabin. It also supports audio connectivity and Bluetooth. There is a four-speaker sound system if you opt for the regular cab, but you'll get six speakers with the extended cab. The base trim gets a solo USB port. 

The second Nissan Frontier, called the SV, builds on that list with a sliding rear window and larger alloy wheels. Its seating material upgrades to the premium cloth. A few packages are available to enhance the SV, including the Value Truck, which has a Class IV tow hitch receiver, heated front seats, and fog lights. A trip computer, along with 18-inch alloy wheels, comes in the Special Edition package. The Midnight Edition includes black-painted 18-inch wheels and a black treatment on the exterior. The Pro-4X has a standard roof rack for more storage capabilities. Heated mirrors, a 10-speaker premium audio system, a sunroof, and parking sensors are included.

2021 Nissan Frontier Horsepower

Solid towing (6,720 pounds) and performance are achieved through the Frontier's powerful engine, a 3.8L V6. The Frontier's engine creates 310 HP on all trim levels, and it is matched to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Most Frontier trims have rear-wheel drive, but the Pro-4X comes with four-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is available for the others.

The Frontier has a rigid outer shell with crumple zones that divert energy from a crash away from the passenger area. You can get the NissanConnect Audio Interface, which includes emergency services such as a stolen vehicle locator, remote alarm notification, and automatic collision notification.
