Specs at a Glance
The 2021 Armada is the largest SUV made by Nissan. Its sheer size is matched by a bold personality that includes formidable power and towing capabilities. Among large SUVs, the Nissan Armada is rated as "Best in Initial Quality and Driver Appeal" by JD Power. It has class-leading power of 400 HP as well, which gives it an equally impressive tow rating that reaches 8,500 pounds. The 2021 Nissan Armada is produced in several appealing trim levels. You can't go wrong sticking with the SV, the entry-level trim that provides all the basics. If you want more luxuries and conveniences, you can upgrade to the Platinum trim level with some different aesthetic features and more interior amenities.
Performance
Performance is the same for the Nissan Armada regardless of whether you choose to get the SV trim or the top trim level, the Platinum. The Nissan Armada uses a 5.7L V8 engine that can generate 400 HP in maximum power. Its torque is about 413 LB-FT, and it uses an eight-speed transmission. The Nissan Armada averages 18 MPG in the city and 15 MPG combined. You'll get front-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain with the base SV trim level or four-wheel drive instead if you opt for the Platinum trim level instead. Both trims operate on a regular gasoline engine. You will get 8,500 pounds in towing power with the Nissan Armada if you get the SV or the Platinum trim.
Appearance
While the SV and Platinum share the same engine and performance characteristics, they have some aesthetic and appearance differences that distinguish the two trim levels. The 2021 Nissan Armada has automatic headlights and LED bulbs to choose from, low-beam and high-beam settings. The Nissan Armada has LED daytime running lights. With the Platinum, you will also get LED fog lights. Both trim levels have body-colored fenders, and chrome-accented door handles. Chrome also garnishes the Nissan's front grille. The mirrors are heated, and power-folding on both trims, and they're covered in chrome with the top trim level. Puddle lights are added to the Platinum trim, which also has a power liftgate.
Features
The Nissan Armada SV trim has standard dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has a rear air conditioning system that allows passengers in the back to set their temperature. Keyless ignition and push-button start are included. Both trims have a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 12V DC power charging outlets. The Platinum also adds a 120V power charging port. The Platinum has upgraded leather seats and ventilated front seats.
