If you’re in the market for an affordable electric vehicle, look no further than the 2017 Nissan LEAF, which was recently named one of the “5 Best Electric Cars Under $40,000” by Kelley Blue Book.
KBB editors point out that buyers should also “Keep in mind all of these vehicles are eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit – in addition to potential state and local incentives – bringing the net price for each of them to below $30,000.”
For the 2017 model year, all Nissan LEAF models now come equipped with the 30-kWh lithium-ion battery that was formerly only offered on the SV and SL trims, giving all LEAF trims a 107-mile range.
The base S comes with front heated seats and a 60/40-split folding rear seat for easier loading and unloading. Also standard is a 5-inch central display, Bluetooth and a USB port, making it easy to stay connected on the road. Upper trims add alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen and navigation. The top-ranging SL gets heated rear seats, foglights, LED headlights and leather upholstery.
The SV and SL also get the Charge package as standard; it is optional on the S model. The package includes a 6.6-kW charger for faster Level 2 charging as well as an extra port for quicker Level 3 DC charging.
A top-notch vehicle that offers plenty to appreciate, the new LEAF is sure to electrify your drives. Come test drive one today at Texas Nissan!
