The upcoming 2016 Nissan Titan is the company's most capable pickup to date, but in order to turn the truck into a strong, resilient piece of machinery, Nissan first had to put it through the trenches to see how it would hold up in a string of scenarios. In the newest chapter of the brand's "Titan Truckumentary" series, we get the chance to see just what the all-new Titan had to endure before it could be labeled the toughest Titan ever made.

Nissan's Arizona Test Center and Technical Center in Detroit were the two facilities chosen to evaluate the 2016 Titan XD's capabilities. Pushed to its limits, the truck was put through a range of outdoor challenges, including durability testing, flood testing and suspension testing that duplicated 20 years of wear. At Nissan Technical Center North America, the Titan underwent further evaluation in a road test simulator that duplicated the rough terrain a part of the courses found at Nissan's Arizona Test Center. By the time its testing would be completed at the center, the Titan XD would have gone through enough challenges that would represent 370,000 miles of market usage.
