For months, we've been hearing about the upcoming Nissan Titan XD and its 5.0L Cummins V8 diesel engine, but just recently, we found out what the standard Titan has to offer: a 5.6L V8 gas engine. If you're a fan of the Titan lineup, you’ll know that the previous-generation model also came with a 5.6L V8, but we assure you the new powerplant is nothing like its predecessor, it's a whole lot better.
Want to purchase the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan, but don't want to pay the extra cash to own the diesel-equipped Titan XD model? Go with the standard Titan model and take advantage of the brand-new 5.6L naturally-aspirated V8 engine. Nothing like the former V8 offered on the first-generation Titan, the new V8 generates an incredible 390 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque, and comes paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission featuring downshift rev matching. The former V8 available on last year's Titan only delivered 317 horsepower and 385 lb.-ft. of torque, making the new V8 ten times better in comparison. In addition to the new V8, a V6 gas option may also make its way on the new model, but as of now, no details have been revealed about the potential displacement.
