Sometimes accidents happen in life that can permanently change your entire world, and at that time, you can choose to let the situation get you down or rise above it. Canadian Rob Parsons, aka Chairslayer, is one individual who’s not accustomed to giving up, so when he was injured in a dirt bike crash, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down, he decided to switch his focus from bikes to cars and built a 600-horsepower Nissan Silvia.
Growing up in Canada, Parsons was always around cars. There was a time in his life when he used to import cars from Japan with his father, which helped mold his love of foreign cars and drifting. A self-taught individual, Parsons picked up drifting by practicing in open parking lots and eventually began competing professionally. However, he did not stick with it and started racing dirt bikes instead until he was in an accident that left him with an array of broken bones and paralyzed. It was at this time that Parsons decided to get back into drifting and set out to rebuild a Nissan Silvia. He outfitted the vehicle with a V8 engine, producing 600 horsepower, and installed hand controls that give him the ability to easily drive it. The entire process took some time to complete, but he now uses it to compete professionally and teach other paraplegics how to drive again.
