Interbrand, a top brand consultant company, has released their annual Best Global Brands Study and we're honored to announce that Nissan made this year's list! Coming in at 56, Nissan moved up nine spots from last year, proving that the company's continuous improvements have had a positive effect on their overall growth. This news comes just months after Nissan came in fourth on Interbrand's Best Global Green Brands list due to the success of the Nissan LEAF, the best-selling electric vehicle in the U.S.
"We are pleased to see a 23 percent increase in brand value from last year - nearly doubling Nissan's brand value since its inaugural appearance on the list in 2011 - and recognition as a "top" riser in the study," said Roel de Vries, Nissan Corporate Vice President and global head of Marketing and Brand Strategy.
Nissan's huge jump on Interbrand's 2014 list can be attributed to their financial performance, first-class products and firm hold on the electric vehicle market. Each of these areas improved the manufacturer's brand health and helped increase its value from $6.2 billion to $7.623 billion within a year's time. Additionally, Nissan's investments in the future development of autonomous cars and use of fuel cell technology made them a prime choice for Interbrand's Best Global Brands Study - a great accomplishment.
