Nissan's ZEOD RC is gearing up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will be held June 14-15, and as a part of its preparation, the racecar recently underwent crash testing to measure its safety. Specifically focused on assessing the ZEOD RC's carbon fiber construction, Nissan tested the racecar by seeing how it would hold up when hitting a stationary object. They captured the entire crash test on video and released it in slow motion, showing the world just how beneficial the ZEOD RC's elongated front end is in the event of a crash.

In the almost two-minute video of the ZEOD RC's chassis crash test, you can see the front nose of the racecar plow into the immovable object from a series of different angles. Each one displays the structure being completely obliterated during the impact and it almost appears as if the front end disintegrates in the process, cutting the long tip down to half its size. However, with the nose taking the brunt of the force in the crash, the cabin is left intact, ultimately securing the driver (dummy). Take a look at the slow motion video below - it is a truly incredible sight!
