The next-generation Nissan Leaf isn't scheduled to debut until 2016, but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from circulating information about its potential upcoming changes. So far, we've heard that the all-new model will be seeing a drastic increase in range, allowing drivers to travel much farther on a full charge - a huge benefit. It's also being said that the Leaf may feature a fresh design that takes cues from the Nissan Pulsar, which is sold in foreign markets. This modification could improve the electric car's functionality and overall appeal on the market, leading new buyers to jump on the Leaf bandwagon.
According to a report from Auto Express, the 2016 Nissan Leaf is expected to receive a 102-mile range increase in comparison to its current model, which offers an EPA-estimated 84-mile range. This means drivers will be able to travel around 186 miles on one single charge, if the report proves to be correct. In addition to this extraordinary upgrade, the Leaf could also be redesigned to resemble the Pulsar, ultimately displaying much more traditional and conventional styling. This could lead to Nissan's signature V-shaped grille appearing on the EV and trunk space could also expand. Beyond these changes, a low-budget sister model may be in the works as well, giving more buyers the chance to experience the Leaf's incredible offerings.
