Friday Night Fireworks in Grapevine

Celebrate our city and our nation every Friday night, from now through September 1, by attending Friday Night Fireworks shows over Lake Grapevine. Event organizers will begin lighting up the night sky with a rainbow of colors at 9:30 p.m.

Free and open to the public, the event is the perfect way to kick start your weekend. As always, large crowds are expected, so be sure to arrive as early as possible to snag the best spots for viewing. To make the occasion even more memorable, free downloads are available through SoundCloud. The patriotic music features a variety of genres, including country and “You’re A Grand Old Flag.” Load up your coolers, blankets, lawn chairs and kids in the car, and make memories that will last a lifetime at Friday Nights Fireworks.

The History of American Fireworks

Each year, communities across the U.S. commemorate Independence Day by igniting thousands of fireworks. The first fireworks display that paid tribute to the Fourth of July took place in Philadelphia on July 4, 1777 – one year after 56 delegates to the Second Continental Congress gave their final stamp of approval for the Declaration of Independence.
